This introductory course is designed for those new to Te Reo Māori. You’ll learn the basics of pronunciation, sentence structure, and everyday conversation in a supportive and engaging environment.

Topics include both formal and informal greetings, how to introduce yourself, as well as an introduction to whakapapa (genealogy) and pepeha.

Whakaraupapa Akoranga – What You’ll Learn:

• Pronunciation of Māori words

• Greetings and farewells

• Basic commands and instructions

• Kīwaha (colloquial expressions)

• Whakataukī (proverbs)

• Waiata (song)

• Karakia (prayer/blessing)
